Late Shri. S.K. Dutta born in 1902, graduated from Calcutta
university in 1921.
He gained Sangeet Visharad from Morris music college in Lucknow under the guidance of Pandit Ratan Jhankar in 1933. Following his graduation, Shri S.K. Dutta continued his music education under Baba Allaudin Khan Sahib of Maihar.*
After completing his education, he began working with the Delhi Radio Station from 1946 through 1976, playing many of his own compositions consisting of Sitar Gat's and the Khayal vocal style.
Shri. Dutta died on the 18th October 1980 and his wife. Smt. Sabita Dutta passed away in June of 2009.
His compositions still continue to be taught and sung by students as a basis of Maihar Gharana style
